Dr. Kasi
Hi! My name is Dr. Kasiani Michalopoulos…I go by Dr. Kasi (she/her). I was born and raised in the Chicago-area as a first-generation Greek-American. Growing up in a diverse city and being raised by immigrant parents sparked my passion for understanding human nature.
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY30359) in the state of California who uses evidence-based therapies to help people live more authentic lives. My approach to therapy involves an emphasis on growth—recognizing when comfort is no longer helpful and when people may need support leaning into discomfort. It is important for me to have a genuine connection with my clients to foster a safe and therapeutic space, as one of the most important factors in therapy is the therapeutic relationship.
In therapy together, we focus on you and your needs…but you may be curious to know some things about me, too! I live with my partner and our two dogs. I enjoy D.I.Y. projects (making furniture and home improvements) and gardening, interests that are driven by my propensity to understand the way in which things work. I have a huge passion for music, including playing the saxophone and enjoying any musical I can get my ears on.
Baloo
Meet Baloo! He is a great addition to therapy, whether it be providing support or being part of an exposure (i.e. phobias, OCD). You may also cross paths with him at community events. Baloo has plenty of ‘agapi’ to give!
